Love is a Day
By Richard Janicki
The Sun peaks out above the mountain's Dawn
Your loveliness makes itself shown to me
I cannot reach it from this gentle lawn
However, it rises over the Sea.
Midday is upon here, illuminating
We see each other in the clearest light
Our garden, luminous, beneath shining
Sunlight, flower pedals dance up as kites.
Lower in the sky is the mourning Sun
It has passed the epoch, now lower still
Gone is the laughter, gayety and fun
A quiet solace, till our Sun is nil.
But do not be saddened by this depart
Know only that we loved, as it was art.
